Dr. Zafar S. Khan is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, practicing at Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center. He sub-specializes in Spine Surgery. Dr. Khan graduated from Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. This was followed by a fellowship in Spine Surgery at the prestigious Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Khan has published and spoken numerous times on key and emerging topics in Spine Surgery. He has served as an instructor in Spine Surgery and has participated in the development of numerous implants. Considered an expert in robotic spine surgery, Dr. Zafar Khan instructs other surgeons on its use and application.

Dr. Khan has served as Chairman of Surgery at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and as Chairman of the Quality Review Committee. He has been named a Physician of Excellence in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 by the Orange County Medical Association and Orange Coast Magazine. Additionally, Dr. Zafar Khan was awarded, “Top Doctor” in America by Castle Connolly in 2016 and 2017.
